Carpet

Yesterday I ordered a runner for my stairs, I'm pretty pumped about it. Thinking of taking up wedding planning as a profession...I mean I know I haven't had my own wedding, but I've certainly been to a few and organised a few more! So anyway, maybe I'll look in to that.

My old man has bought a couple of houses in Lincoln recently, he's already got them rent out to students, I quite want one of them, it's massive!

My friend Kate (she'll love this mention) is currently in Thailand, living it up with some kids and then she is off to Australia, she has like the best job ever! I wish we lived closer, she is silly and I like that.

Carpet arrival is imminent...if I can work out how to add a picture to my blog then I will show you it...

2 men-he pee-pole and excess water consumption...

There were way too many people in my office this morning, I would estimate at about 15, and there aren't even that many seats, so people were hovering, phones were ringing and the like, oh I am pleased that is over and it is peace and quiet...bar the noise of my collegue chomping on her tuna and cucumber soft white roll with spread, please.

Ok, so I am making a conscious attempt to drink more water. It has been pointed out to me that my lack of water drinking could infact be the root of all my medical complaints (this next bit is not for the faint hearted, or anyone I am trying to impress)...spots, ulcers, farting and BO, to name but a few. Basically I never actually get thirsty, I just sometimes have a drink...anyway, I have started drinking water and now I have developed a thirst...this bit I don't like, the need for fluid makes me feel weak and the need for toilets at unsuspected moments even more so. No longer am I like a camel. Nic, my housemate, has given me a flask to bring to work to have on my desk to fill with water and remind me to keep drinking...I have give it its first outing today and am on my 3rd pint today...that's pretty good going compared to my ususal intake. Watch this space for more enthralling updates on my drinking patterns...

Both my applications for jobs have now gone in, I will let you know when / if I hear from them. I have also booked my flights to go to Scotland which I am quite excited about. I am going at the end of Feb for a week and very much looking forward to the thought of reading and walking and consuming excess amounts of Scottish water, of course.

Hmm, lunch is up and I am back to the grind stone, so to speak...

Po-tat-no

I just ate a jacket potato with cheese and beans for my lunch, the cheese was actually very nice, which made the experience much more enjoyable. Tonight I have a volunteering christmas lunch, no turkey I assume, have just stuffed my face however so am not hungry at the moment...maybe in 6 hours I will be.
I am a bit bored of work at the moment...not this particular moment in time, but in general, and not 'work' in general, just my particular job, you get me huh? Well, have applied for a job this week so we'll see how that goes, and have a couple of other things in the pipeline (so to speak).
I organised a screening of 'Black Gold' at the weekend which went successfully so that was good.
I am thinking about holidays at the moment, (as well as feeling full from lunch) and am going to go visit my old granny in Scotland next month which I am quite excited about, plan on doing nothing but sleeping, walking and reading (that to me sounds like fun!)!
Not sure I've quite got the hang of this 'blogging' yet, feel like my life needs to be a tad more exciting for people to be interested in reading about it.
The weather = raining. I only like the rain when I am wearing the appropriate footwear.

First post

This is just my first blog experience. I am sat in my lounge, stealing someones intermittent wireless (which I found out today is illegal and apparently you can get taken to court over it)...ooh, look at me dicing with death. Anyway, my friend Kate wants me to write a blog, so this is my initial lame attempt at it. I am finding it hard to think of things to say. I just cleaned the bathroom and am sat in the living room whilst my housemates watch 'You've got mail!'. Hmm.

It has just been christmas, this laptop I am writing on was infact a present I got, so I guess thats new. Last year (as in 2007) I brought a house, which is what I have spent quite a lot of my time recently doing, I am currently working on the fireplace. Got it swept yesterday, just need to get my housemate Jude to shimmy up the drain pipe and whip off the gas thing (technical term) at the top of the chimney (she offered, it was not a condition of rent) then we are on fire, kind of literally.

I wanted to go and see the seals at Donna Nook (every winter all the seals go to the beach there to have their pups) but I just looked it up and apparently they have all left, so that is a bitter disappointment.
